Green chillies are one of the regular spices we use in our daily meals. Usually, it has a mild concentration of pepper action. It is called green chilli because this pepper is harvested before it changes its colour pigments to red. chilli

They are extremely low in calories and are almost fat-free which makes them a great ingredient during weight loss programs. They are said to be a rich source of nutrients that are valuable for your body’s well-being and contain a rich mix of Vitamins A, C, and K and the phytonutrient called capsaicin which prevents the growth of cancer cells in our body

Help Treat Skin Infections

Green chillies are loaded with anti-bacterial properties. Therefore it helps cure skin infections and acne. It gives healthy and glowing skin due to the presence of Vitamin C. However, remember to store the chillies in a dark and cool place as the chillies might lose Vitamin C if kept in heat and light.

Weight Loss

With chilli in your diet, burning off excess fat in your body gives an assurance due to its thermogenic properties. It also helps increase the metabolic rate.

Controls Blood Sugar Levels

Consuming green chillies regularly can prove beneficial for diabetic people. Eating green chillies can prevent sugar levels from increasing in the body and balance it.

Helps Control Mood Swings

Eating green chillies releases endorphins which help in elevating the mood and curbing mood swings. It is also said to be a pain reliever.

May Prevent Osteoporosis

Green chillies are rich in Vitamin K, which is known to decrease the risk of osteoporosis. The capsaicin component in green chillies can help prevent the inflammation of joints.

Consuming green chilli in excess

It is important to note that consuming green chilli in excess can have negative effects on the body. Overeating green chillies can cause digestive issues such as loose motion or diarrhoea due to their high dietary fibre content. It can also result in painful rectal inflammation, particularly in individuals suffering from piles.

Pregnant women should be careful with their intake of green chillies as it may increase heat in the stomach and cause a burning sensation in the stomach lining.

Additionally, consuming too many chillies can be toxic for the body due to the high amount of capsaicin, and can cause your body temperature to shoot up, leading to mouth ulcers.

Therefore, it is advisable to consume green chillies in moderation to reap their benefits and avoid any negative effects.
