Goat weed (Ageratum Conyzoides)

goat weedGoat weed (Ageratum Conyzoides) this is a plant that grows wildly around our surrounding having a purples flower as shown in the picture above.

It is a local plant that has been in existence for a long time it contains many bioactive compounds which includes flavonoids, alkaloids, cumarins, essential oils and tannins.

Herbal use of the plant

As a medicinal plant, Ageratum conyzoides is widely used by many traditional cultures, against dysentery and diarrhea. It is also an insecticide and nematicide

A study on this plant has unveiled the fact that its contents can be used to treat rheumatism and arthritis.

This has brought hope to people suffering with this predicament as this article explains in details how the plant is used to cure arthritis and rheumatism.

How to use Goat weed to treat arthritis and rheumatism

  1. Wash and squeeze the fresh leaves to get four table spoons full of the fresh juice.
  2. Add it to a teacup of boiled water, and allow to steep for 5 minutes.
  3. Add 2 cloves of smashed fresh garlic and drink first thing in the morning
  4. Do same for the next 21 days.

Note: goat weed has other spiritual uses which involves anti poisons, nightmares, etc and this is discussed on special occasions with permission from the client as it does not constitute a part of this article.
